Pinot Noir is an artist's variety. Brooding, deep, and reserved, but with plenty of thoughts on anything and everything. At its best it can be both powerful and ethereal. rustic and refined. Nicknamed the 'heartbreak grape' due to its sensitivity to poor growing conditions—but in my book due to its penchant for bottle variation—its like a dangerous love, any given moment with it could end in euphoria or in disaster, which is part of its fun and appeal.
