Vermouth Amaro 'Dopo Teatro' (500mL)
Very few names loom larger in Italian aromatized wine than Giulio Cocchi (pronounced COKE-ee), who began producing his wines in 1891 in Asti. His bottlings became world-renowned during the Belle Epoque, and the solidification of cocktail culture, but at their core, his wines are still meant to be drank as aperitif wine. Enjoyed over ice, straight-up, or with soda/tonic, his wines are, to this day, wonderfully enjoyable.
Considered an "evening vermouth" by Cocchi, 'Dopo Teatro' was produced with wormwood, rhubarb, chiretta, and a double infusion of cinchona, along with the addition of Barolo Chinato— which adds a red wine nuance to the vermouth.
Enjoy over ice and the end of the day.
