Riesling is a variety, more so than most, that is defined by its terroir, all while conveying a sense of minerality that is almost unbelievable. It can also be wildly diverse in style: dry in Alsace, off-dry and ethereal with an almost electric acidity in the Mosel, honey-like when produced as trockenbeerenauslese. It is a variety that stirs passion among sommeliers and obsessives alike.
