Barolo Bricco Boschis

The Cavallotto family is the chief owner of the beautiful Bricco Boschis cru in the Castiglione Falletto district, where they have been growing Nebbiolo since 1929 and bottling their own wine since 1948. These richly structured wines place emphasis on elegance and longevity, attributable to excellent vineyards in the Bricco Boschis and Vignolo crus and traditional long maturation periods in large Slavonian-oak casks.

Steadfast devotion to tradition combined with a high regard and respect for modern viticultural and winemaking techniques result in complex and elegant Nebbiolos that are released for sale only when they have acquired perfect maturity.

Barolo is the emperor of Northern Italian reds, and Cavallotto's Bricco Boschis is an astonishing example. Hand-harvested from the Colle Sud Ovest, Vigna Punta Marcello and Vigna San Giuseppe plots in the Bricco Boschis cru, the wine was fermented in stainless steel utilizing indigenous yeasts before aging 36-42 months in Slovenian oak cask. Approximately 1,800 cases are produced annually. 

Ripe red fruits and plums give way to white pepper, geranium, leather, blood orange peel, and forest floor/truffle, and firm, fine grained tannins and fresh acidity give this wine a structure that will allow it the further gracefully age in bottle.
