The Ogier family has been rooted in the Côte-Rôtie village of Ampuis for seven generations. From the age of six, current owner and winemaker Stéphane knew he wanted to follow in his winemaker father’s footsteps. . He now produces the domaine's wines from 27 acres of vineyards in some of the most famous Côte-Rôtie areas as well as from select sites located throughout the Northern Rhône Valley. Stéphane has built his philosophy on two principles: precision and freshness. Interpreting the terroir is not just about conveying the effect of the sun, but also the minerals, and today, the wines have become a reference point for Côte-Rôtie and are sought after by the greatest chefs and most serious wine lovers around the world.

“Combe de Malleval” can be loosely translated as “Outlaw Holler,” and is so named for the bandits who once utilized the village of Malleval as a hideout in medieval times, and Ogier calls on 25 to 38–year old Viognier vines here to make this absolute riot of stony, floral, and peachy perfumes in a full-bodied and extremely satisfying white.
